Dell Rapids started the game on a 6-0 run, but the Milbank Bulldogs responded with a 15-2 run of their own and never lost the lead again. Milbank defeated the Quarriers 65-44 on Saturday, January 14th.
The Bulldogs ended the first quarter with an 18-10 lead. Dell Rapids kept pace with the Bulldogs in the second quarter, and Milbank led 35-27 at halftime. They extended the lead to 47-32 by the end of the third quarter and then outscored Dell Rapids 18-12 in the fourth quarter.
Dell Rapids shot 30% (17-57) overall, 30% (7-23) on three-point shots, and 3-3 from the free-throw line. Milbank was 59% (26-44) from the field, 40% (4-10) from three-point area, and 56% (9-16) from the free-throw line.
Claire Wynja had 13 points, three rebounds, and five assists. Liz Price had seven points, three rebounds, and two assists. Elly Olson also had seven points and three rebounds. Kerrigan Kindopp finished with six points, and Jenna Miller had five points, five rebounds, and three assists.
