The top seeded Dell Rapids Quarriers cruised into the 11A semifinals after a 41-7 win over the Lennox Orioles on Thursday, October 27th.
The Quarriers played well in all phases of the game. The offense had 366 yards of total offense, 288 rushing yards and 78 passing yards. The defense only allowed 208 yards of offense and forced two turnovers, and the special teams scored a touchdown late in the game.
Mason Stubbe put the Quarriers on the board in the first quarter with a 62-yard run. He added an eight-yard run later in the quarter as well. Camden Justice was one-for-two on extra point attempts, and Dell Rapids led 13-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Brayden Pankonen scored the next three touchdowns for Dell Rapids. He had a two-yard rushing touchdown and a 13-yard touchdown reception from Jack Henry both in the second quarter. Dell Rapids converted one of two two-point conversions and led 27-0 at halftime. Pankonen had an 18-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and Stubbe scored the two-point conversion to give the Quarriers a 35-0.
Lennox got on the board late in the fourth quarter on a 42-yard run. The extra point made the score 35-7, but on the ensuing kickoff, Tad Tjaden ran the kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown.
Henry was 5-11 passing for 78 yards and a touchdown. Pankonen had four catches for 66 yards and a touchdown. Chase Jones had a catch for 12 yards. Stubbe finished with 13 carries for 177 yards and two touchdowns. Pankonen had five carries for 26 yards and two touchdowns. Henry added five carries for 25 yards, and Jones had four carries for 21 yards.
Will Jaton had five tackles. Jones and Cole Ruesink both had four tackles each. Henry, Treyse Eastman, and Aiden Geraets all had three tackles. Geraets also had a sack. Quinn Carr had a sack and a fumble recovery. Ruesink also recorded a sack.
Dell Rapids will host Sioux Falls Christian in the semifinals on Friday, November 4th.
