The 2015 regular season proved to be a record-setting year for the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal football team. The Cardinal team made their way into the record books for their game on October 9th against the Deubrook Area Dolphins. The 618 total yards posted by St Mary was the 13th most all-time in South Dakota 9-man football. Of the 618 yards of total offense, 617 of those yards were rushing yards, which is the 5th most all-time in South Dakota 9-man football. The combined score of that game, 120 (72-48 St Mary win), also made it into the record books.
Senior Josh Brown also entered the record books. Brown got into the record books during the October 9th game by having seven touchdowns and scoring over 42 points in one game. Brown also made the record books for some of his career stats. With the 1,424 rushing yards this season, that pushed Brown’s career total to 5,096 rushing yards, which is the 8th best all-time in South Dakota 9-man football. He becomes the 8th rusher in 9-man football to have over 5,000 rushing yards in his career. Brown is also 4th all-time in career rushing touchdowns with 80.
