Rain threatened to put a damper on Homecoming celebration on Friday, but most the rain held off long enough for most of the Homecoming activities to take place during the day.
The Homecoming Parade, which started at 1:00 p.m., completed without any rain showers as the floats and bands paraded down Fourth St. Rain showers later in the afternoon postponed the St Mary tailgater before the football game, and the St Mary Booster Club is working on plans for a potential future date for the tailgater.
The rain ended before the varsity football games, and both Homecoming Queens were able to make their entrances to the football games on the Avera helicopter.
The Cardinals posted a 24-0 Homecoming win over Castlewood/Estilline, while Tea Area defeated the Quarriers 14-6.
