Beresford Boys Make it Four in a Row

The Beresford Watchdog boys basketball team won their fourth straight game on Friday, January 9th.  The Watchdogs defeated the McCook Central/Montrose Cougars at home by a score of 65-58.

Beresford grabbed the lead in the first quarter and held a 22-17 advantage going into the second quarter.  They were able to extend the lead to double digits in the second quarter.  The Watchdogs led 40-27 going into halftime.  Beresford maintained a double-digit lead throughout the third quarter and led 54-39 heading into the fourth quarter.  The Cougars made a run in the fourth quarter.  McCook Central/Montrose cut the lead to 55-47 with 5:50 to play in the game.  Beresford, though, was able to maintain the advantage through the rest of the game.

Aidan Hamm finished with 16 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  Malachi James added 15 points, three rebounds, three steals, and two assists.  Tiegen Nyhaug ended with 12 points, three rebounds, and four assists.  Cooper Nelson had 10 points, 13 rebounds, and two steals.
