Watchdog Boys Hold of Madison in Home Victory

The Beresford Watchdog boys built a big lead and then held off the Madison Bulldogs at home on Thursday, February 1st.  Beresford took the win 73-63.

The Watchdogs started the game on fire and built a 21-10 lead by the end of the first quarter.  They extended their lead to twenty points, 33-13, with 3:00 to play in the first half.  Madison cut the lead in half and trailed 35-25 at halftime.

Beresford was able to increase their lead to nearly twenty points again in the third quarter.  The Watchdogs took a 56-38 lead into the fourth quarter.  The Bulldogs chipped away at the lead and got within seven points, 65-58, with 2:30 left in the game.  Beresford was able to stop the rally and took the ten-point win.

Five players finished in double figures.  Aidan Hamm had 18 points, two rebounds, and three assists.  Malachi James added 17 points, two rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Seth James ended with 15 points and six rebounds.  Andrew Atwood had 11 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.  Jon DeLay tallied 10 points and three assists.
