The Beresford Watchdog girls finished third at the Big East Conference Tournament this year. After suffering a loss to Sioux Valley, 46-68, on Friday, Beresford defeated Garretson 58-35 on Saturday, January 27th at home to take third place.
A big first quarter run set the tone for the Watchdogs. Beresford outscored Garretson 14-3 in the opening quarter. They extended the lead a little in the second quarter and led 26-11 at halftime. The offense put together a big quarter in the third. The Watchdogs scored 19 points in the third quarter and led 45-26 going into the final period.
Ella Merriman finisehd with 36 points in the game. Harley Koth added 10 points. Lily Seivert had six points. Kendra Ellis ended with four points, and Kylie Mockler had two points.
