For one and a half quarters, the Beresford Watchdogs (7-7) hung with the #2 ranked Vermillion Tanagers, but the Tanagers proved to be too much in a 50-26 win on Tuesday, January 31st.
Vermillion held just a two-point lead, 13-11, at the end of the first quarter. The lead stayed at just two points, 17-15, with 4:35 to go in the first half. That’s when the Tanagers took off the rest of the game. Vermillion ended the first half with a 29-19 lead. Beresford was held to just seven second half points.
Lily Sievert finished with nine points. Ella Merriman had eight points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Irelyn Fickbohm added four points and three rebounds. Macy Quartier had three points, and Harley Koth had two points.
