The Baltic 14U baseball team dropped their last two games. They fell to Dell Rapids Navy on Friday, June 20th and then fell to West Central Royal Blue 14U on Tuesday, June 24th.
Dell Rapids Navy 21, Baltic 5
Dell Rapids scored 10 times in the top of the first. Baltic only got two runs in the bottom of their inning. After a scoreless second, Dell Rapids had six more runs in the third to go ahead 16-2. Baltic had a run in the bottom of the third. Dell Rapids kept rolling with another run in the fourth and four more in the fifth. Baltic finished with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth before the game ended on the 10-run rule.
Gavin Skatvold had two hits. Braden Breece had a single and an RBI. Michael Grunewaldt had a hit, and Laken Kortemeyer had an RBI.
West Central Royal Blue 12, Baltic 7
West Central used a big rally in the middle of the game to earn the 12-7 come-from-behind win. Baltic scored one in the top of the first, but West Central got two runs for a 2-1 lead. Baltic scored twice in the top of the third to take a brief 3-2 lead. West Central scored four times in the third and five in the fourth for an 11-3 advantage. Baltic cut into the lead, 11-7, with four runs in the top of the fifth. West Central got an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth.
Brody Hansen had three hits, one a double, and an RBI. Hayden Sundermann, Kortemeyer, and Braeden Turner all had a hit with an RBI. Everitt Bemboom also had a hit. Hansen pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed six runs, five earned, on five hits and five walks with six strikeouts. Oliver Nedved pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed six runs, five earned, on five hits and five walks with three strikeouts.
