The Baltic 16U baseball team dropped their first game in the Region 3B Tournament in Alexandria. Baltic took the loss against Canova 10-4.
After Baltic scored a run in the top of the first, Canova took the lead with two runs. Baltic tied the game 2-2 after another run in the top of the second. Canova, however, scored three times in the bottom of the second. They would extend the lead to 8-2 with another three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Baltic plated two more runs in the top of the fifth, but Canova scored a run in the fifth and another in the sixth.
Jackson Goehring had three hits, two of them doubles, and two RBIs. Riiker Rogers had two hits, one of them a double. Braxton Allen also had a double and an RBI. Elias Oakley finished with a single and an RBI, and Joey Grunewaldt also had a hit. Riley Schultz pitched four innings and allowed eight runs, only three earned, on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts. Allen pitched two innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on a hit and a walk.
