The Baltic Jr Legion baseball team scored in every inning in a 14-3 win over Garretson in the opening round of the Region 2B Tournament at Ronken Field in Sioux Falls on Monday, July 27th.
Baltic scored two times in the top of the first and five more in the top of the second for an early 7-0 lead. Garretson scored two times in the bottom of the second to make the score 7-2. Each team scored a run in the third to an 8-3 Baltic lead. Baltic continued to roll offensively and scored four more in the fourth and two more in the fifth. The game ended on the 10-run rule after the fifth inning.
Brody Hansen had three hits and two RBIs. Elias Oakley had a double and home run with two RBIs. Brechen Fredrick added two singles and two RBIs. Laken Kortemeyer had two hits with an RBI. Cale Roach, AJ Grunewaldt, and Mikey Grunewaldt all had a hit with an RBI. Braeden Breece had a hit, and Gavin Skotvold had an RBI.
M. Grunewaldt pitched three innings and allowed an earned run on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Roach tossed two innings and allowed two earned runs on four walks.
