The Baltic 16U baseball team avoided season-ending elimination in the Region 3B Tournament with a 12-1 win over Letcher on Tuesday, July 25th.
Baltic scored two runs right away in the bottom of the first inning. Letcher cut the lead in half, 2-1, with a run in the top of the second. Baltic then scored 10 straight runs, three in the bottom of the third and seven in the bottom of the fourth.
The team had 14 hits in the game. Jackson Goehring had three hits and an RBI. Riiker Rogers finished with two hits and two RBIs. Braxton Allen had two hits, one a triple, and an RBI. Ryder Siemonsma also had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Riley Schultz had a home run and three RBIs. Joey Grunewaldt finished with a double and two RBIs. Elias Oakley also had a hit and two RBIs. Beau Breece and Isaac Oakley both had one hit each.
Grunewaldt pitched three innings and allowed one hit with five strikeouts. Breece pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts. E. Oakley pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed two walks.
Baltic will play Garretson on Wednesday, July 26th.
