Baltic Baseball Ends Skid, Holds off West Central

The Baltic high school club baseball team snapped a three-game skid by holding off West Central 8-7 on Saturday, April 29th.

West Central broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the third with a run.  Baltic responded with a big top of the fourth inning.  Braxton Allen had an RBI sacrifice fly.  Matt Muston added a two-run double, and Tate Feucht had a two-run single to give Baltic a 5-1 lead.  West Central cut the lead to 5-4 after three runs in the bottom of the fourth.  Neither team scored in the fifth inning.  Baltic added three more runs in the top of the sixth.  Beau Breace had an RBI single, and Gunner Schultz had a two-run triple to make the score 8-4.  West Central again cut the lead to one run, 8-7, after three runs in the bottom of the sixth.  With two outs and the tying run on third base in the bottom of the seventh, Tayden Hansen got the final out of the game on a strikeout to secure the win.

G. Schultz had two hits, one a triple, and two RBIs.  Muston had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.  Breace had two hits and an RBI.  Hansen finished with two hits, one a double.  Feucht had a single and two RBIs.  Jose Valadez had a single, and Allen had an RBI.  Allen pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing seven earned runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts.  Hansen had 1 1/3 innings allowing just one hit with two strikeouts.
