Late Rally Comes up Short for Baltic Baseball

Baltic (1-4) scored a couple of runs in the last two innings, but their rally fell a run short against Madison on Thursday, April 27th.  Madison held for a 5-4 win.

Each team scored a single run in the first and second innings.  Tayden Hansen had an RBI groundout to tie the game 1-1 in the bottom of the first.  Beau Breace also had an RBI groundout in the bottom of the second to tie the game again, 2-2.  Madison would get a single run in the third, fourth, and fifth innings while holding Baltic scoreless to build a 5-2 lead.

Breace hit a two-out RBI single to center field in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 5-3.  Hansen hit a single to left with one out in the bottom of the seventh that brought home Riley Schultz to cut the lead to 5-4.  Baltic had the tying run on second base with two outs, but Madison was able to get the final out on a strikeout.

Breace and Hansen both had a single and two RBIs in the game.  Beau Keith finished with a double.  Schultz, Braxton Allen, and Tate Feucht all had a single.  Feucht pitched four innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on one hit and five walks with five strikeouts.  Keith pitched two innings allowing an unearned run on three hits with five strikeouts.
