Alcester-Hudson Boys Come from Behind for Win over Eagles

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs trailed for most of the game, but they were able to come from behind for a 57-55 win over the Irene-Wakona Eagles on Thursday, January 23rd.

The Eagles started the game with a 7-0 run and led the entire first half.  They held a 21-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.  Irene-Wakonda continued to lead throughout the second quarter and held a 36-28 lead at halftime.  The Cubs were able to get the game tied 40-40 with 4:00 to play in the third quarter.  The Eagles responded with seven straight to go back in front 47-40.  The Cubs cut the lead to 47-44 by the end of the third quarter.

Alcester-Hudson grabbed the lead lead in the game and led 57-54 with second remaining.  Irene-Wakona made the first of two free-throws to make the score 57-55.  After missing the second free throw, the Eagles got the offensive rebound.  They had a couple of chances to get the game-trying or game-winning shot, but both attempts were no good.

Evan Brown, who made five three-point shots in the game, finished with 20 points.  Evan Haak added 13 points.  Ethan Bovill had 10 points, and Tommy Walth finished with nine points.
