Canton Takes Match over Alcester-Hudson

The Alcester-Hudson Cub volleyball team hosted the Canton C-Hawks on Monday, October 14th on their Cancer Awareness Night. The C-Hawks won in straight sets, 25-6, 25-15, and 25-16.

Canton got off to a quick 6-1 start in the opening set.  They cruised from there the rest of the match.  The C-Hawks extended their lead to 17-6 before winning 25-8.  The Cubs started the second set with a 2-1 lead.  Canton pulled ahead 8-5.  Alcester-Hudson trailed by four points, 11-7, but then Canton extended the lead to 15-9.  They were still in front by six, 19-13, before finishing the set on a 6-2 run for a 25-15 win.

The Cubs started the third set with a 4-3 advantage.  Canton went on a 6-0 run for a 9-4 lead.  Alcester-Hudson pulled within three points, 11-8.  They stayed within four points, 18-14, but Canton finished the match on a 7-2 run for a 25-16 win.

Hannah Ahart finished with five kills, five set assists, and seven digs.  Emma Solberg, Emma Moller, and Emily Winquist all had two kills each.  Jenna Manning had nine digs, and Jaeley Christensen had four digs.
