The Alcester-Hudson Cubs volleyball team traveled to Garretson on Tuesday, October 1st. The Cubs fell in straight sets by scores of 25-11, 25-12, and 26-24.
The Blue Dragons used big runs in the firsts two sets. Garretson started the first set with a 4-2 lead. They pushed the lead to 10-3 and then to 18-8. They ended the first set on a 7-3 run for a 25-11 win. Alcester-Hudson took a 5-3 lead to start the second set. Garretson tied the score 6-6 and then went on a 6-1 run for a 12-7 advantage. They extended the lead to 20-11 and finished the set on a 5-1 run for the 25-12 win.
The third set went back and forth throughout its entirety. Garretson started with a 4-1 lead and pushed it to 7-3. The Cubs tied the score 7-7, and it remained tied 9-9. The two teams were tied again at 13-13 and 17-17. The Blue Dragons went on a 3-0 run for a 20-17 lead. Alcester-Hudson was able to get the score tied 23-23. The Cubs went again 24-23, but Garretson went on a 3-0 run to win 26-24.
