School Record Broken for Cubs at Irene Volleyball Tournament

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs volleyball team played in the Irene-Wakonda Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, September 7th finishing 0-3 on the day.  The Cubs played Mt Vernon-Plankinton, Sioux Falls Lutheran, and Deubrook.  During the Sioux Falls Lutheran Match, Hannah Ahart broke the school record for career ace serves.

In the match against the Titans, Mt Vernon-Plankinton won in straight sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-18.  Delta Pies had five kills, two blocks, and six digs.  Emma Moller had three kills and two digs.  Emma Solberg also had three kills with four digs.  Ahart had 23 digs, six set assists, and a kill.  Devin Hongslo had four digs and three set assists, and Jaeley Christensen had six digs and two set assists.

The Sioux Falls Lutheran Eagles defeated the Cubs in straight sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-16.  Ahart had two ace serves to set the school record along with six digs, three set assists, and a kill.  Solberg finished with two kills and three digs.  Baylee Klaschen had seven digs, and Pies finished with four digs.

In the their other match of the day, the Cubs fell to the Deubrook Dolphins in three sets by scores of 15-25, 25-23, and 14-25.  Ahart had 11 kills, three ace serves, 15 digs, and nine set assists.  Moller finished with five kills, eight digs, and a block.  Manning had three ace serves and six digs.  Christensen added seven set assists, and three digs.  Honglso had four kills, three digs, and two set assists.
