Cub Girls Suffer Loss at Great Plains Conference Tournament

The Alcester-Hudson Cub girls took on the Tripp-Delmont/Armour Nighthawks at the Great Plains Conference Tournament on Saturday, February 10th.  The Nighthawks outscored the Cubs in three of the four quarters for a 51-38 win.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour led 14-10 at the end of the first quarter.  They extended the lead to 26-16 by halftime.  The Cubs cut into the lead by the end of the third quarter, but just by a point.  Alcester-Hudson trailed 37-28 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Cubs shot 23% (11-47) from the field overall, 0-14 on three-point attempts, and 73% (16-22) from the free-throw line.  The Nighthawks finished the game shooting 41% (14-34) overall, 2-7 from three-point area, and 75% (21-28) from the free-throw line.

Elly Doering had 19 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.  Emily Winquist finished with seven points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Jenna Manning added five points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Emma Solberg had four points and two assists.
