Second Half Rally by Madison Sinks Alcester-Hudson Girls

A second half rally by the Madison Bulldogs helped them take a 66-53 victory over the Alcester-Hudson Cubs on Thursday, February 8th in Madison.

Both teams put 18 points on the board in the first quarter, and the game was tied 18-18 going into the second.  The Cubs were able to hold the Bulldogs to just five points in the second quarter, and Alcester-Hudson led 28-23 at halftime.  Madison, however, would outscore the Cubs by 10 in the third quarter and flipped the lead to 45-40 in favor of the Bulldogs going into the fourth quarter.  The Bulldogs maintained their lead in the final quarter and outscored the Cubs 21-13.

Alcester-Hudson shot 39% (17-44) from the field overall, 30% (3-10) from three-point area, and 59% (16-27) from the free-throw line.  Madison finished the game shooting 35% (20-57) overall, 24% (9-37) on three-point shots, and 57% (17-30) from the free-throw line.

Elly Doering had 24 points and 11 rebounds.  Emily Winquist added 12 points, five rebounds, and two steals.  Jenna Manning had 10 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.  Emma Solberg ended with five points.
