Cubs Split Basketball Double-header With West Sioux

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs hosted the West Sioux Falcons in a girls and boys basketball double-header on Saturday, December 17th.  The girls won 49-46, but the boys fell to the Falcons 74-33.

The girls team won a back-and-forth game.  The first quarter ended in a 12-12 tie, but the Falcons held a six-point lead at halftime, 25-19.  The Cubs were able to cut the lead to four points, 35-31, after the third quarter.  Alcester-Hudson then outscored the Falcons 18-11 in the final quarter to get the win.

The Cubs shot 30% (16-54) overall, 27% (3-11) from three-point area, and 64% (14-22) from the free-throw line.

Elly Doering had 21 points, five rebounds, and two steals.  Ella Serck finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.  Sarah Ebert added seven points and three rebounds.  Delta Pies and Kayleigh Thompson both had four points each.

The Alcester-Hudson boys fell to the Falcons 74-33.  William Hallaway led the Cubs with six points.  Jose Topete-Lopez finished with five points and four rebounds.  Jayce Jund also had five points.  Evan Brown finished with two points, three rebounds, and two steals.
