Alcester-Hudson Volleyball Ends Regular Season with Home Loss

Playing in their second match in as many nights, the Alcester-Hudson Cubs ended the 2022 regular season with a loss at home to the Freeman Flyers in straight sets on Tuesday, October 25th.

The start of the match was played close. Freeman did take an early 7-3 lead, but tied the score at 8-8 and again at 10-10.  Freeman then went on a 10-1 run for a 20-11 lead before winning the first set 25-17.  The Cubs hit first in the second set getting a 5-1 lead to start.  The Flyers eventually tied the score 11-11 and then again went on a big run.  Freeman went ahead 19-13 and finished the second set with a 25-18 win.  The Flyers took an early lead in the third set, but once again, the Cubs tied the score 9-9.  The two teams went back and forth with the largest being four points at 18-14 in favor of Freeman.  The Cubs got within two points, 18-16, but that was as close as they would get as the Flyers won the third set 25-19 to win the match.

Ella Serck finished with 20 set assists, 16 digs, and two kills.  Hannah Ahart had 13 digs.  Emma Moller, Alexis Gray, and Devin Honglso all had six kills each.  Carly Patrick finished with five kills.  Elly Doering added seven digs, two blocks, and two kills.  Gray also had six digs and two blocks.  Moller and Jenna Manning each had seven digs.
