Cubs Play Spoiler at Jaguar Homecoming

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs played the role of spoiler at the Corsica-Stickney homecoming on Friday, Aug 26th.  The Cubs scored with just under five minutes to go to get a 12-6 win over the Jaguars.

Alcester-Hudson scored first on a 10-yard touchdown run by Mateo Kleinhans.  The Jaguars only touchdown came on a three-yard run by Waylon Bolle.  The game-winning score for the Cubs was on a one-yard touchdown dive by Jose Lopez with just under five minutes to play in the game.

Both defenses shined in this game.  Both the Cub and Jaguar defenses had four turnovers each in the game.  The Cubs finished with 270 yards of total offense, 248 of those on the ground.  Corsica-Stickney had 225 yards of total offense, 159 rushing.

Kleinhans finished with 12 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown.  Lopez had 12 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown.  The defense was led by Evan Brown with nine tackles.

Alcester-Hudson (2-0) will travel to Burke on Friday, September 2nd.
