The Hartford-Humboldt Gamecocks have split their last two Cornbelt League games.  The Gamecocks earned a 3-2 victory over the Madison Broncos on Thursday, June 17th, but fell to the Dell Rapids Mudcats 17-6 on Sunday, June 20th.

The Gamecocks scored the first run in the top of the second inning after an RBI single by Adam Hentges.  The scored remained 1-0 until the bottom of the seventh.  Madison scored two times to take a 2-1 lead.  The Gamecocks tied the game on a RBI ground out by Noah Vettrus and then took the lead on an RBI single by Cam Quigley.  The Broncos threatened to tie the game, or win it, in the bottom of the ninth.  They got their first two batters on with singles, but the tying run was left at second base.

Hartford-Humboldt put together a two-run second, one-run third, two-run fourth, and one-run fifth inning to take a 6-5 lead over the Mudcats heading into the bottom of the fifth on Sunday.  Dell Rapids then had two very big innings.  The Mudcats scored five times in the fifth and seven more in the sixth for a 17-6 lead, and the game ended on the 10-run rule in the seventh inning.

Tyler Renken had a triple and single in the game.  D Maras had two hits.  J. Maras had a double.  Drew DeMers, Quigley, Hentges, and Cam Morrison all had singles in the game.
