The West Central Trojan girls golf team should be competitive this season as they return all eight varsity golfers from a year ago. Kaylee Olson is the lone senior on this year’s team and was a state qualifier last year. Lyric Riepma (top 20 finish), Blaire Eberhard, and Dakotah Larson (top 20 finish) also qualified for the state tournament last year. The team placed sixth at the state tournament.
“Our region will be very difficult. Last year, of the 45 girls that golfed in the Region 2A Tournament, only six were seniors. Also, of the top nine teams at the state tournament last year, six of them were from the Dak XII Conference. So, area golf will be competitive,” said head coach Tony Lanham.
The Trojans are scheduled to host their early bird tournament on Thursday, April 13th, to start the 2023 season.
