Both the West Central Trojan girls and boys wrestling teams competed at the Yankton Invitational on Saturday, February 4th. The boys team finished third with 211.5 points. The girls team had a 20th place finish with seven points.
Karson Vessells won the 113-point weight class with three wins. Jesse Jost (132), Chandler Carda (145), and Justin Zirpel (160) all finished second with 3-1 records. Chet Carda (182) had a third place finish with a 4-1 record on the day. Gavin Pischke (285) placed fourth with 3-2 record. Orlando Whiting (126), Wyatt Nielsen (170), and Gabe Gebhard (195) were fifth with 4-2 records. Connor Siemonsma (138) was also fifth with a 3-2 record. Keaton Vessells (152) was sixth with a 3-3 record. Levi Anderson (120) and Cody Opitz (220) finished seventh with a 3-2 record. Alex Siemonsma (106) finished 1-2 on the day.
Allison Foote finished fourth for the girls with three byes and an overall 3-2 record. Kyliegh Schuller finished with one bye and an overall record of 1-2.
