West Central Boys Finish Regular Season Undefeated

The West Central Trojan boys finished the 2025-2026 regular season with a perfect 20-0 record after a 74-35 road win against the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on Monday, February 23rd.

The Trojans took an early 7-4 lead three minutes into the game.  They were able to extend that lead to 15-8 by the end of the first quarter.  The second quarter is where the Trojans really pulled away.  West Central outscored the Huskies 25-10 for a 40-18 halftime lead.  They continued to add to the lead in the quarter and held a 62-26 advantage going into the final quarter.

West Central shot 63% (29-46) from the field overall, 47% (8-17) from three-point area, and 80% (8-10) from the free-throw line.  Elk Point-Jefferson was 45% (14-31) shooting overall, 33% (4-12) on three-point shots, and 3-6 from the free-throw line.

Connor Mebius led the way with 23 points and two rebounds.  Will Kuhl added 19 points and eight rebounds.  Kolte Garry ended with 11 points and three rebounds.  Tanner Wagner had six points.  Bubba Kono and Beckett Everson had five points each.

The Trojans will have the #1 seed in Region 3A Tournament play which will begin on Tuesday, March 3rd.  West Central will have an opening round bye and will play in a SoDak 16 qualifying game on Friday, March 6th.
