The West Central Trojan wrestling team won the West Sioux Invite on Saturday, January 6th. The Trojans finished with 244.5 points. Brookings finished second with 211.0 points.
Kaden Haakinson won the 106-pound class with three wins. Langdon Klinkhammer won the 144-pound weight class with three wins. Keaton Vessells also finished first in the 157-pound division with three wins. Chandler Carda won the 165-pound class with three wins. Karson Vessells finished as the runner-up in the 126-pound division with a 2-1 record. Hayden Whiting was second in the 150-pound division with a 2-1 record. Chet Carda finished second in the 215-pound division with a 3-1 record. Gabe Gebhard (285) placed second as well with a 3-1 record.
Alex Siemonsma (113) had a third place finish with a 2-1 record. Orlando Whiting (132) placed third with a 3-1 record. Jesse Jost (138) also took third with a 3-1 record. Cody Opitz (215) had a third place finish with four wins and one loss. Gavin Pischke (285) finished third with a 3-1 record. Grayson Pischke (106) placed fourth with a 2-2 record.
Braxton Huber (165) and Cain Grocott (175) also took part in the tournament.
