Trojan Softball Hangs on for Win over Edgerton

The West Central Trojan softball team held off Edgerton for a 6-5 victory on Monday, March 30th in Hartford.

Addy Kunzweiler and S Rolfson both scored on an error in the bottom of the first inning for a 2-0 lead.  A. Kunzweiler had an RBI single in the bottom of the second to extend the lead to 3-0.  Edgerton hit a three-run home run in the top of the third to tie the game 3-3.

The score remained 3-3 until the bottom of the fifth.  Miley Travis had an RBI sacrifice fly to put the Trojans back in front, 4-3.  Teagan Lupkes and Ayla Kramer both had an RBI sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 6-3.  Edgerton hit a single and home run to start the top of the seventh to make the score 6-5, but Linzie Hoff and the Trojans stopped the rally for the win.

Kunzweiler had three hits, one a double, and an RBI. Travis added a single and an RBI.  Sophie Rolfson had a hit.  Lupkes and Kramer both had an RBI.  Briauna Hoff pitched three innings and allowed three earned runs on two hits and two walks with four strikeouts.  Hoff pitched four innings and allowed two earned runs on three hits and five strikeouts.
