Trojan Girls Have Big Second Half in Win over Canton

The West Central Trojan girls turned a five-point halftime lead into a 70-45 win over the Canton C-Hawks in Canton on Tuesday, February 17th.

The Trojans got out to a 12-2 run to start the game.  They ended the first quarter with an 18-9 lead.  Canton rallied in the second quarter and pulled within two points a couple of times at 19-17 and 22-20.  West Central was able to push their lead to 29-24 by halftime.  The second half is where the offense got going for the Trojans.  They outscored Canton 26-10 in the third quarter to lead 55-34 going into the fourth quarter.

West Central shot 52% (26-50) overall in the game, 38% (9-24) on three-point attempts, and 9-12 from the free-throw line.  Canton finished the game shooting 34% (15-44) overall, 21% (3-14) on three-point attempts, and 80% (12-15) from the free-throw line.

Kacey Jaton finished the game with 31 points, six rebounds, and three assists.  Ayla Kramer had 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  Ellie Knight ended with 10 points, seven assists, and three rebounds.  Mackenzie Skonhovd also had 10 points with two rebounds and two steals.
