West Central Girls Blow Past McCook Central/Montrose for Win

The West Central Trojan girls ran their current winning streak to four games with a big 70-37 win over the McCook Central/Montrose Cougars at home on Tuesday, February 10th.

The Trojans put 22 points on the board in the first quarter on their way to a 22-6 lead at the quarter break.  They would keep the pressure on the Cougars in the second quarter and extend their lead to 37-13 by halftime.  Each team scored 15 points in the third quarter as West Central continued to lead by 24 points, 52-28, going into the fourth.  The Trojans would outscore the Cougars 18-9 in the final quarter.

West Central shot 53% (30-57) overall in the game, 45% (10-22) on three-point shots, but did not attempt a free throw.  McCook Central/Montrose finished the game shooting 43% (13-30) overall, 40% (6-15) from three-point area, and 5-14 from the free-throw line.

Four players finished in double figures for the Trojans.   Ayla Kramer had 20 points.  Kacey Jaton ended with 15 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Bailey Stallman had 13 points.  Abbi Thornton ended with 12 points.  Ellie Knight had four points with seven assists and five rebounds.
