West Central Girls Use Strong Second Quarter for Win over Madison

The West Central Trojan girls used a big second quarter advantage to help them to a 63-33 win over the Madison Bulldogs in Madison on Friday, February 6th.

Both teams had their offenses rolling in the opening quarter.  They combined for a total of 40 points as West Central held a 23-17 at the end of the quarter.  The Trojans then outscored Madison 26-8 in the second quarter to take a 49-25 lead into halftime.  The defense for West Central would hold the Bulldogs to just eight total points in the second half.

West Central shot 48% (26-54) overall in the game, 50% (11-22) on three-point shots, and 0-3 from the free-throw line.  Madison finished the game shooting 25% (11-44) overall, 22% (6-27) on three-point attempts, and 42% (5-12) from the free-throw line.

Kacey Jaton had 20 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Mackenzie Skonhovd finished with 13 points, three rebounds, and four assists.  Elle Knight also had double figures in points with 10 along with 10 rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Abbi Thornton ended with six points and five assists, while Ayla Kramer had six points and four assists.
