Trojan Boys Win Battle of Top 10 Teams

The #1 ranked West Central Trojans faced the #4 ranked Hamlin Chargers at the Dak-12/NEC Clash in Madison on Saturday, January 31st.  The Trojans pulled away from the Chargers in the third quarter on their way to a 69-48 victory.

West Central grabbed the lead in the opening quarter and never looked back.  They led 20-11 at the end of the opening quarter.  The lead grew to 36-24 by halftime.  The Trojans really put the game out of reach in the third quarter.  They outscored Hamlin 22-10 to take a 58-34 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Trojans shot 65% (29-45) from the floor overall, 50% (6-12) on their three-point shots, and 71% (5-7) from the free-throw line.  Hamlin finished the game shooting 37% (18-49) overall, 27% (7-26) on three-point attempts, and 5-6 from the free-throw line.

Connor Mebius, named the game’s MVP, finished with 29 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Will Kuhl had 15 points and seven rebounds.  Hayden Heier added 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists.  Kolte Garry had eight points, four assists, and three rebounds.
