Strong Second Half Leads to Road win for West Central Boys

The West Cantral Trojan boys used a strong second half for a 72-42 road win over the Flandreau Fliers on Friday, January 30th.

Both teams scorched the nets in the first quarter combining for 39 total points.  West Central led 20-19 at the end of the first quarter.  They were able to push the lead to 34-25 by halftime.  The Trojans put the game away in the second half.  They outscored the Fliers 14-10 in the third quarter to lead 48-35 going into the fourth quarter.  The Trojans exploded for 24 points in the fourth quarter while holding Flandreau to just seven points.

West Central shot 45% (28-62) overall in the game, 31% (10-32) from three-point area, and 6-11 from the free-throw line.  Flandreau finished the game shooting 43% (16-37) overall, 29% (5-17) on three-point attempts, and 5-7 from the free-throw line.

Boche Knight had 11 points and five rebounds.  Connor Mebius also had 11 points with three assists and three steals.  Will Kuhl added 10 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Hayden Heier had nine points, three rebounds, and two assists.  Bubba Kono and Carter Gross both also ended with nine points.
