The West Central Trojan girls and boys wrestling teams traveled to Dell Rapids for the Dak-12 Conference Tournament on Saturday, January 24th.
The girls team placed fifth with 22 points. Hailey Fortney won her division with two pins and a 2-0 record. Maci Tiahrt placed third with an 0-2 record. Breckyn Meyer also finished 0-2 for the day.
The boys team placed third with 178 points. The Trojans had six first-place finishers. Kaden Haakinson won the 113-pound class. Bentley Klinkhammer took the top spot in the 120-pound class. Karson Vessells was first in the 126-pound division. Brody Gossen won the 132-pound class. Alex Siemonsma won the 138-pound weight class, and Langdon Klinkhammer won the 144-pound division.
Caden Roe finished second in the 106-pound class. Braylon Robbins (165) placed third with a 2-1 record. Braxton Huber (190) took fourth with a 1-2 record. Grayson Pischke (150), Kevin Cholopray (157), and Kash Garry (285) were all 1-2 on the day. Jett Whiting (157) and Nate Struck (285) were both 0-2.
