Trojan Boys Use Defense and Patient Offense to Stay Unbeaten

The West Central Trojan boys basketball team earned another tough victory at home on Thursday, January 22nd.  The Trojans defeated the Lennox Orioles with strong defense and patient offense 45-33 to stay undefeated on the season.

West Central held the Lennox Orioles to zero field goal attempts through the first four minutes of the game and to just two total points in the opening quarter.  The Trojans led 10-2 after the first quarter.  They remained in front by eight points, 22-14, at halftime by answering any run Lennox made in the second quarter.  Another strong defensive performance in the third quarter helped the Trojans extend the lead to 32-20 going into the fourth quarter.

The Trojans finished the game shooting 37% (15-41) overall in the game, 26% (5-19) from three-point area, and 71% (10-14) from the free-throw line.  Lennox shot 37% (13-35) overall, 29% (5-17) on three-point shots, and 2-4 from the free-throw line.

Will Kuhl had 13 points, seven rebounds, and two steals in the game.  Boche Knight added 10 points and four assists.  Tanner Wagner had eight points and four rebounds.  Bubba Kono ended with six points and four rebounds.
