The Lennox Orioles snapped a three-game winning streak by the West Central Trojan girls with a 55-28 victory in Hartford on Thursday, January 22nd.
The Orioles built a double-digit lead in the opening quarter and kept growing that lead throughout the game. Lennox led 19-8 at the end of the first quarter. They added a point to the lead, 27-15, by halftime. The Trojans were held to just six points in the third quarter as Lennox extended the lead to 38-21 going into the fourth quarter.
West Central shot just 23% (9-39) from the field overall, 16% (3-19) on three-point attempts, and 7-7 from the free-throw line. Lennox finished the game shooting 45% (21-47) overall, 47% (8-17) on three-point shots, and 5-7 from the free-throw line.
Kacey Jaton had nine points, three rebounds, and two steals. Abbi Thornton added six points, two rebounds, and two steals. Ellie Knight ended with five points, four rebounds, and two assists.
