West Central Boys Win Two at Hoop City Classic

The West Central Trojan boys basketball team earned two big wins at the Hoop City Classic held at the Corn Palace in Mitchell on Tuesday, December 30th and Wednesday, December 31st.  The Trojans earned wins over Pine Ridge and Lakota Tech.

West Central 87, Pine Ridge 42

The Trojans put together a big win over Pine Ridge on Tuesday while shooting 59% (36-61) from the field overall, 46% (11-24) from three-point area, but just 4-12 from the free-throw line.  Two players had over 20 points and three players finished in double figures.

Will Kuhl had 26 points, nine rebounds, and five steals.  Connor Mebius finished with 21 points six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Carter Gross added 10 points.  Hayden Heier had eight points and four rebounds.  Boche Knight and Kolte Garry each had six points.

West Central 85, Lakota Tech 17

West Central had another great shooting day from the court against Lakota Tech on Wednesday.  The Trojans were over 50% again at 52% (33-63) overall.  They also shot 33% (7-21) from three-point area and 75% (12-16) from the free-throw line.  Four players finished in double figures on the day.

Heier had 18 points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Mebius added 15 points, three rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Gross ended with 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists.  Braden Ockenga finished with 10 points and four steals.  Kuhl had eight points and four rebounds.
