The Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks found themselves on the wrong end of their last three games. They suffered a loss to the Flandreau Blue Teal on Thursday, July 10th, to Madison on Sunday, July 13th, and also Harrisburg Woodies on Tuesday, July 15th.
Flandreau Blue Teal 10, Wood Ducks 5
The first inning was explosive between the two teams on Thursday. The Wood Ducks started the game by scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. Flandreau responded with seven in the bottom of the inning. The Blue Teal added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Wood Ducks added a run in the top of the fifth. Flandreau scored one more time in the bottom of the eighth.
Jearl Jesson had two hits, one a double. Braden Herr and Keaton Vessells each had a single and an RBI. Brodie Herr had a double. CJ DenBoer and Rayce Whiting each had a single. Bradyen Odegaard also had an RBI.
Madison 11, Wood Ducks 4
The Wood Ducks took the lead with two runs in the top of the firsts against Madison. Madison, however, rallied for five runs in the bottom of the second to take a 5-2 lead. They added two more in the bottom of the fourth. The Wood Ducks added another run in the top of the sixth to make the score 7-3, but Madison had three more runs in the bottom of the sixth and another in the seventh to extend the lead to 11-3. The Wood Ducks had one more run in the top of the eighth.
Hunter DenBoer had three hits, one a home run, and three RBIs. Odegaard had a double with an RBi. Jesson, Logan Larsen, Rob Lind, Seth Kuno, and Jacob Ellens all had one hit each.
Harrisburg Woodies 6, Wood Ducks 0
The Woodies broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the top of the fourth inning and then added two more in the top of the fifth for a 6-0 win.
The Wood Ducks only had two hits in the game. Odegaard had a double, and Braden Herr had a single. Jacob Ellens pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed six earned runs on seven hits and five walks with two strikeouts.
