Gamecocks Drop Game in Canova

The Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks traveled to Canova and fell to the Gang 9-1 on Tuesday, July 8th.

Canova scored a run in the bottom of the first for an early 1-0.  Joe Hanisch tied the game for the Gamecocks with an RBI single in the top of the third.  The Gang retook the lead in the bottom of the third, 3-1, with two runs.  They added two more runs in the fifth to extend the lead to 5-1.  Canova scored four more times in the bottom of the eighth.

Hanisch finished with two hits and an RBI.  Blake Svoboda had two hits, including a double.  Cam Quigley also had two hits.  Devon Garry and Chad Morrison had one single each.  Jonah Rechtenbaugh threw 7 1/3 innings and allowed nine runs, seven earned, on nine hits and five walks with seven strikeouts.  Broc Haldeman pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing a hit with two strikeouts.
