The West Central 17U Royal baseball team earned two wins against two different teams on Wednesday, July 2nd. They got a 7-6 win over Tri-Valley Maroon and a 13-3 win over Madison Maroon.
West Central Royal 7, Tri-Valley Maroon 6
After three scoreless innings, each team scored two times in the fourth inning. West Central added a run in both the fifth and sixth innings for a 4-2 lead. The seventh inning was full of excitement. Tri-Valley made a run scoring four times to go in front 6-4. West Central rallied for three runs in the bottom of the inning to earn the 7-6 walk-off win.
Keaton Vessells and Carter Evans both had two hits each. Karson Vessells had a single and two RBIs. CJ DenBoer added a double and an RBI. Hayes Cain, Zach Lorang, Hayden Whiting, and Ashton Gebhard all had one hit each. Keaton Vessells pitched four innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits and three walks with 10 strikeouts. Jericho Klein pitched three innings and allowed four earned runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
