Two Big Innings Helps Madison to Win over Gamecocks

The Madison Dairy Queen Broncos used two big innings to help them to a 12-6 win over the Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks on Sunday, June 29th.

The first big inning for Madison happened right away in the first inning.  The Broncos scored six times for a 6-0 lead.  The Gamecocks got a single run in the bottom of the first and third innings to make the score 6-2.  Madison would add four more runs in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 10-2.  They added another one in the top of the seventh.  The Gamecocks plated four runs in the bottom of the seventh to make the score 11-6, but that was as close as they could get.  Madison scored one more run in the top of the ninth.

Joe Hanisch had two hits and two RBIs.  Kyle Konechne had two hits, one a home run, and an RBI.  Tyler Migliante also had two hits.  Broc Haldeman had a single and an RBI.  Cam Quigley and Drew Maras both had one hit each.  Cole Barhel pitched six innings and allowed 10 runs, five earned, on 11 hits and three walks with three strikeouts.  Drew Maras pitched three innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits with one strikeout.
