Big Innings Leads Patriots to a Win over West Central Softball

The Sioux Falls Lincoln Patriots used a six-run inning to help them to a 9-7 win over the West Central Trojans on Tuesday, May 7th.

The first four innings went back and fourth.  West Central took a 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the first.  The Patriots scored two in the top of the second to go ahead 2-1.  The Trojans tied the game, 2-2, with another run in the bottom of the second.  Sioux Falls Lincoln regained the lead, 3-2, in the top of the third.  West Central had a four-run bottom of the fourth to take a 6-3 lead.  The Patriots then had a six-run top of the fifth inning to take the lead for good.  West Central got just one run in the bottom of the seventh.

Ayla Kramer had two hits with three RBIs.  Teagan Lukpes had two hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Miley Travis added a home run with an RBI.  Izzi Parsons, Elisabeth Miller, and Briauna Hoff all had one hit each.  Miller pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed nine runs, four earned, on 11 hits and nine walks with six strikeouts.  Kacey Jaton pitched 1/3 of an inning.
