The West Central Trojan softball team pulled away from the Dell Rapids Quarriers late in the game for an 11-1 win at home on Thursday, April 10th.
The game was close through the first five innings. Both teams went scoreless in the first two innings. West Central broke through with a run in the bottom of the third. They would continue to lead 1-0 until they added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth for a 3-0 lead. Dell Rapids got a run back in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to 3-1. West Central, however, exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game on the 10-run rule.
Addy Kunzweiler had three hits and an RBI. Ayla Kramer added two singles and three RBIs. Sophie Rolfson had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Izzi Parsons finished with two singles and an RBI. Elisabeth Miller, Briauna Hoff, Kadence Lupkes, and Teagan Lupkes all had a single and an RBI. Maddy Kunzweiler also had a hit. Miller pitched six innings and allowed an earned run on two hits and three walks with nine strikeouts.
