West Central Hits Late Free Throws to Get Win over Mustang Girls

The West Central Trojans made five free throws in the closing moments after Tri-Valley had tied the game to earn a 41-36 victory on Tuesday, February 4th.

The Mustangs had an 8-7 lead at the end of the opening quarter.  West Central would outscore Tri-Valley 11-5 in the second quarter for an 18-13 lead at halftime.  Tri-Valley cut into the lead in the third quarter, but only by two points.  The Trojans led 29-26 going into the fourth quarter. Tri-Valley cut the lead to one point, 32-31, with 4:15 to play.  They would eventually tie the game, 36-36, on a three-point shot by Hailey Sorenson with 1:40 to go, but the Trojans made five free-throws the rest of the game to earn the win.

Kacey Jaton finished with 11 points and two steals.  Rayna Goehring had nine points, three rebounds, and three assists.  Abbi Thornton added six points and five rebounds.  Ayla Kramer ended with five points, 10 rebounds, and three steals.  Ellie Knight had five points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Mara Schultz also had five points with two rebounds and three steals.
