The West Central Trojan girls got a big win over the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies at home on Friday, January 24th. The Trojans took the win 62-56.
West Central built a 17-9 lead by the end of the first quarter. Elk Point-Jefferson cut the lead down to three points, 32-29, by halftime. The Huskies continued to rally in the third quarter. The teams went back and forth, and the game headed to the fourth quarter with a 41-41 tie score. The Trojans were able to pull away from the Huskies late in the fourth quarter to get the win.
Three players finished in double figures. Kacey Jaton had 19 points, four rebounds, and five assists. Ellie Knight had 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Abbi Thornton also had 12 points with seven rebounds and two assists. Ayla Kramer and Mara Schultz both had seven points and five rebounds each. Rayna Goehring added five points.
