Trojan Girls Fall in Low Scoring Battle

Field goals were hard to come by for both teams in the game between the West Central Trojan girls and the St Thomas More Cavaliers on Friday, January 17th.  The Cavaliers scored almost half of their points in the third quarter in a 29-22 win.

The two teams combined for a total of 17 made field goals and 13 free throws in the game.  The first quarter ended in a 4-4 tie.  The Trojans were able to outscore St Thomas More 6-4 in the second quarter for a 10-8 halftime lead.  The Cavaliers put 14 points on the board in the third quarter which helped them to a 22-17 lead going into the fourth quarter.  While the Cavaliers didn’t make a field goal in the fourth quarter, they made enough free throws to hold off the Trojans.

Abbi Thornton had eight points, six rebounds, and three steals.  Ellie Knight had five points, six rebounds, and two assists.  Kacey Jaton also had five points and seven rebounds.  Bailey Stallman and Rayna Goehring both had two points each.
