Trojan Volleyball Finishes Regular Season with Win

The West Central Trojan volleyball team played their final regular season match of the year at Tri-Valley High School on Monday, October 28th.  The Trojans won by set scores of 27-25, 25-18, 19-25, and 25-17.

The Mustangs started with a 4-0 run in the opening set.  West Central rallied for an 8-4 run of their own to tie the score 8-8.  Tri-Valley went back in front 13-9.  The Trojans were able to tie the score 17-17.  The score was tied 19-19 before West Central went in front 23-20.  Tri-Valley scored the next three points for a 23-23 score.  The score was tied again 24-24 and 25-25.  West Central then scored the final two points for a 27-25 win.

The Trojans started with a 4-0 run in the second set.  They pushed the lead to 9-4, but the Mustangs got within a point, 10-9.  West Central stopped the rally and pushed their lead to 19-13.  They were able to stay in front to a 25-18 win.  The third set started with a 3-3 tie.  Tri-Valley then went on a 5-1 run for an 8-4 lead.  The Mustangs extended their lead to 20-13.  Tri-Valley held for a 25-19 win in the third set.

West Central opened the fourth set with a 5-3 lead, and the lead grew to 9-4.  The Mustangs went on an 8-3 run to tie the score 12-12.  The Trojans responded with a 6-0 run of their own to go in front 18-12.  That run was key to the win.  The Trojans stayed in front the rest of the set to a 25-17 win.
