Gamecocks Fall to Madison at Home

The Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks suffered a home loss to Madison Dairy Queen 4-1 on Tuesday, July 2nd.

The three runs scored in the top of the first inning by Madison was enough in the game.  The score remained 3-0 until the bottom of the fifth.  Ryan Healy had an RBI single to make the score 3-1, but that was as close as the Gamecocks would get.  Madison scored one more time in the top of the ninth.

Broc Haldeman had two hits.  Healy finished with a single and an RBI.  Blake Svoboda added a double.  Adam Henges, Loren Jacobson, and Briggs Havlik all had one hit each.  Cole Barthel pitched six innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts.  Havlik pitched three innings and allowed an earned run on five hits with three strikeouts.
