Two Meet Records Set in Baltic by West Central Track

The West Central Trojan track team competed in one more track meet before the state meet on Thursday, May 16th in Baltic.  The girls team placed fourth as a team with 93 points.  The boys team finished third with 119 points.

Sarah Johnson finished second in the 3200m run.  Abbi Thornton was second in the triple jump and third in the long jump.  Rayna Goehring placed fourth in the 200m dash.  Mara Schultz took fourth in the shot put.  Clara Nelson was fifth in the 400m dash.  The 4x100m relay, 4x200m relay, and 4x800m relay teams all finished second.  The sprint medley relay team placed third, and the 4x400m relay team took fourth.

Liam Schmeichel won the 110m hurdles in a time of :14.74, won the high jump with a leap of 5’11”, and finished second in the 300m hurdles.  Crew Heier set a meet record and finished first in the javelin with a throw of 140’7″ and then placed fifth in the shot put.  Peyton Tetzlaff finished second in the 3200m run.  Zach Nielsen was second in the high jump.  Evan Jaton placed fifth in the 800m run.  Kade Hruby was fifth in the 3200m run.

The boys sprint medley relay team of Patrick Hammond, Elliot DeJong, Rylee Hartung, and Benjamin Strunk set a meet record and finished first with a time of 3:38.50.  The 4x200m relay team of Hartung, Hammond, DeJong, and Jude Jarding won with a time of 1:31.70.  The 4x100m relay team placed third.  The 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams both placed fourth.
